(Verbindung zwischen der Kohlenhydratzufuhr während Golfrunden und den damit verbundenen Faktoren bei japanischen Junioren-Elite-Golfspielern)
This study aims to determine the carbohydrate intake during a round of competition and its related factors in elite junior golfers. The participants included 64 Japanese elite junior golfers (32 male and 32 female) with an average age of 14.6 ± 1.6 years old. The survey used recall methods. The survey items cover drinks and foods intake, purpose of intake, and basic demographics during official competitions in 2022. Carbohydrate intake was assessed according to whether they consumed the recommended 30 g per hour. In this study, for 18 holes constituted 629 ± 321 kcal (mean ± standard deviation) of energy and 26.1 ± 13.8 g/h of carbohydrates. The percentage of players consuming the recommended amount of carbohydrates was 35.9%. Moreover, nutrition education was associated with consuming the recommended amount of carbohydrates during a golf round, regardless of age, sex, or BMI (odds ratio, 3.70; p = 0.039).
