(Der institutionelle Rahmen für die Entwicklung von Massen- und Spitzensport: Beispiel Großbritannien)
The analysis of the sport governance models given in this paper on the example of two world leading sport powers - the United Kingdom and French Republic appears to be extremely important and relevant. The United Kingdom and France were not chosen by chance. These two European countries are regarded as the most developed countries in the field of sports in the world, representing completely different models of state regulation of the sports sphere. Each of the models has its own advantages and appears effective in its own way. The given research included the methods of analysis, synthesis and comparative analysis. The systems of the elite sport systems development in the UK and France are compared to each other. Advantages of each elite sport system are observed.
Meanwhile despite the differences between the institutional framework for sport governance both France and the United Kingdom provide effective models for sport governance, demonstrating national athletes among traditional winners of the World championships and the Olympic Games.
