ASC annual report 2004/2005

The Australian Sports Commission (ASC) was established by the Australian Sports Commission Act 1989 and is the Commonwealth agency responsible for providing advice on, and delivering the Government's sport policy and programs. The ASC is a statutory authority with a Board of Commissioners appointed by the Government. This Annual Report was submitted by the ASC Board Chairman, Mr Peter Bartels to the Minister for the Arts and Sport, Senator the Hon Rod Kemp. It reports on the ASC's achievements for the period covering 2004/05. It is prepared in accordance with the requirements of the Commonwealth Authorities and Companies Act 1997 , as required under section 48 of the ASC Act. The Annual Report provides an assessment of the ASC's performance against the accountability framework agreed with Government, and highlights the success of the programs of the ASC, including the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS). It contains six sections, which includes the Report of Operations. The Annual Report meets the criteria outlined in the Finance Minister's Orders.
