The following document sets out the strategic direction to be undertaken by the Association over the next five years in support of world class sports science support to UK athletes and coaches. This strategy is designed to complement the Association's aims: 1. To promote fundamental and applied research in the sport and exercise sciences. 2. To encourage the development of evidence-based practice in the sport and exercise sciences. 3. To disseminate knowledge about the sport and exercise sciences. 4. To establish and maintain high professional standards for all sport and exercise scientists. 5. To represent the interests of sport and exercise scientists nationally and internationally. 6. To promote the relevance of sport and exercise science to society. 7. To facilitate communication amongst those actively engaged in research and scientific support in the sport and exercise sciences.
