In this paper the development, current state, and perspectives of computer science in sport as an interdisciplinary field of sport science are discussed. Since the beginnings in the 1970es, computer science in sport with its subjects (data acquisition and analysis, modelling and simulation, data bases and expert systems, presentation, and learning, coaching and training technologies) has undergone a furious development. Currently, computer science in sport is well institutionalized and has established networks. Furthermore, computer science has developed an infrastructure for publications. The quality and quantity of research in computer science in sport grow continuously. One future task is to keep pace with the development of computer technology and computer science. Im vorliegenden Beitrag werden Entwicklung, Stand und Perspektiven der Sportinformatik als interdisziplinäres Arbeitsfeld der Sportwissenschaft dargestellt. Die Sportinformatik mit ihren Gegenstandsbereichen (Datenaufnahme und -analyse, Modellbildung und Simulation, Datenbanken und Expertensysteme, Präsentation sowie Lern-, Coaching- und Trainingstechnologien) hat seit ihren ersten Anfängen in den 1970er-Jahren eine rasante Entwicklung vollzogen. Sowohl national als auch international ist die Sportinformatik gut institutionalisiert und vernetzt und verfügt auch über Publikationsorgane. Qualität und Quantität sportinformatischer Forschung nehmen ständig zu. Eine Aufgabe fur die Zukunft ist die kontinuierliche Aktualisierung sportinformatischen Wissens.
