Adaptation, Antagonism, and System Dynamics

The following presentation deals with phenomena of physiological adaptation from the view point of mathematical modelling and computer aided simulation. A so-called metamodel - i.e. a model on a rather high abstract level, which e.g. can be used to generatelow level models - is introduced that can be used to structurally describe and simulate dynamics of adaptation processes. Some examples of possible application in the field of training analysis and simulation based training optimisation are shown. Moreover, some ideas of more complex application are briefly discussed, where in particular the combination with neural network models seems to show a way for a better understanding of mental adaptation processes like learning.
