Circuit training is best for beginners and those of average fitness looking to tone up and get in shape. Athletes and sports people would probably only want to use circuits early in the off-season as basic strength and conditioning work, or as an alternative anaerobic interval training method or during an injury rehabilitation period to help maintain aerobic fitness. Both aerobic fitness and strength are better improved by traditional methods.
