Motor tests of coordination abilities
(Motorische Tests für koordinative Fähigkeiten)
An increased interest in coordination abilities follows from their significance in controlling and regulating human's movements. The more effective regulation and control of the movements is especially required in sports. In contemporary sports training the condition load reaches the border values in the volumes and intensity indexes. The further limits are being found especially in the field of training load where the priority should be the development of the coordination abilities. In relation to the scientific progress it is also important to increase the part of more demanding movements as to the coordination in the motorics of standard population, too. To penetrate into the complicated base of the coordination ability and motorics learnability - docility, we have to mostly dispose of the standardized means and tolls for their diagnostics. Among the most simple and for the time being irreplaceable diagnostic tools belong the terrain motorics tests. Several tests that have been used were not standardized on appropriate level. The aim of this monograph is to provide the population with the results of the grant research VEGA no. 1/0462/03 Standardization of the motorics tests of the coordination abilities".
The theoretical part of the publication briefly discusses the importance, development of the knowledge, place, taxonomy, characteristics and diagnostics of the coordination abilities and motorics docility. In the results subchapter we bring the data about the level of the coordination abilities and motorics docility of the 10-, 14-, 17- a 20-years old school population that was diagnosed in 8 coordination abilities and motorics docility. In the same part we introduce the results of the used standardized procedures (validity, reliability - stability in time). Based on those results we identify three relatively most valid and most transferable tests for every one out of those 8 coordination abilities. The selected tests are also enclosed with the norms and scales of their assessment and evaluation that can be also used as performance standards for elementary and secondary schools.
