Im Frühjahr 2007 fand in Köln der 25. Workshop zur Dopinganalyse statt. Angesichts der Bedeutung eines effektiven nationalen und internationalen Dopingkontrollsystems kommt diesem jährlichen Treffen von Experten aus der ganzen Welt eine sehr große Bedeutung zu, gewährleistet und fördert es doch den Austausch neuester Erkenntnisse zum Thema Doping. Dies erscheint wichtig, um den Dopingtätern noch besser auf die Spur kommen damit eine offensichtlich nicht gebrochene Dopingmentalität in verschiedenen Bereichen des Sports bekämpfen zu können. Die Einnahme von Dopingmitteln muss für die Täter und deren Umfeld mit immer größeren Risiken der Aufdeckung verbunden sein, was aber nur dann gelingen kann, wenn die Wissenschaftler ihre individuellen oder nationalen Anstrengungen verbinden können.
