Methods of learning the main alpine-skiing techniques taught in romanian sports universities

(Methoden zur Vermittlung der grundlegenden Alpinskitechniken an rumänischen Sporthochschulen)

INTRODUCTION: The advancement of the techniques and technical methods of teaching alpine skiing represents the primary goal of the theoretical and practical field of skiing (Fekete J., Trifa l., Mateas C., 2002; Balint Ghe., 2005; Ene-Voiculescu C, 2006). Sports universities include as a component in their curriculum for the first year of study (applied to 75 subjects), the Mountain Sports discipline. In this discipline, Alpine Skiing has a Programme of study consisting of 14 hours of theoretical courses and 56 hours of practical courses. This program will be taught during the Winter in the skiing resort of Predeal, in the Carpathian Mountains at an altitude of 700m. METHODS: experiment - hypothesis: the learning of parallel skiing in 10 days, based on organised inter-groups of study for different sports branches; tests methods - downhill christiania intermediate forms; downhill christiania with rotation; downhill christiania with shock-absorbing; downhill christiania with counter-skidding; efficiency analysis of learning (committees - 5 specialists). RESULTS: The graphical representation (Fig. 1) illustrates the classification based on arithmetical averages of the points from the grading Systems. The classification is as follows: 1st Place: the gymnastics group with an average score of 8.75 (which includes Catalina Ponor, World and Olympic Champion); 2nd Place: the rugby and wrestling intergroup with an average score of 8.65; 3rd Place: the tennis and swimming intergroup with an average score of 8.50 (which includes Razvan Florea, who earned 3rd place at the swimming Olympic Games of Athens 2004 and 3rd place at the swimming World Championship 2006, and Tecau Horia tennis Wimbledon team 2002, 2003; 4th Place: the team games from Constanta University (8.25) received the 3rt place at the World Academics Games, Dublin, 2006- 5th Place: a group of athletes from "Ovidius" University who earned 3rd place at the National Championship (with an average of 8.00). CONCLUSION AND TARGETS: The validity of the direct approach learning method for parallel skiing is confirmed in a ten-day practical course. The results of the experimental sturdy led to a new theoretical course book called: Techniques and methods in mountain sports - Alpine skiing basics, Ovidius University Press. The above mentioned statistical parameters offer us the possibility of a new experiment and study. Namely, the analysis of an annual comparative study of several statistical indicators based on the curriculum for 2nd year students, the continuity of the discipline called Applications in mountains Sports - Skiing is justified. The objective of this discipline is represented by the indirect learning method (nonparallel skiing).
