A combined measurement system for discriminating complex resistances affecting ski sliding
(Kombiniertes Messsystem für die Diskriminierung komplexer Widerstände, die sich auf das Gleiten der Ski auswirken)
A newly developed measuring system is presented. It prvides preliminary quantitative results concerning the complex resistance on the sliding model ski.
From the results it is concluded that the kinetic frictional coefficients are caused by the combination of conventional frictional resistance and plastic deformation forces given that the straight sliding measurement in Type C (straight snow track with a ski model) resulted in excessive values compared to those obtained by rotating measurements in types a (static snow plate with a rotating disk) and b (rotating snow track with a static model ski). The fluctuation in excess resistance seems to be a kind of stick and slip phenomenon.
