Regarding "The effectiveness of resistance exercises performed on unstable equipment"
(Mit Bezug zum Artikel "Die Wirksamkeit von Krafttrainingsübungen, die auf nicht stabilem Untergrund absolviert werden")
The reasons for contesting the opinions of Willardson are as follows. We encourage strength conditioning professionals developing programs for any skill or sport to recognize that no single ideology or concept fits neatly into a given circumstance. One should not dismiss an emerging mode of exercise because of an inability to apply the principles of overload and periodization to that training model for optimizing athletic performance. The goals of resistance exercise on unstable surfaces are to enhance the endurance capacity of muscles along with the neuromuscular recruitment patterns necessary for proprioception and stabilization. These goals contribute to injury prevention and may lead to enhanced exercise economy, thus contributing ultimately to that athlete`s success across a competitive season.
