Effect of acute endurance exercise on muscle glycogen content and performance during subsequent resistance exercise

The effect of a single session of endurance exercise (45 min of elbow extensor activity) was related to heavy-resistance exercise (12 sets of 8-12 repetitions to failure).
Resistance performance was reduced by an average of 12% after endurance exercise. It was not shown if the reduction was due to glycogen depletion.
Implication: Resistance training should be performed prior to endurance training if its principal benefits are to be incurred.
