Reliability, validity & effect of maturation in the 10-5 repeated jumping test in adolescent athletes.

(Reliabilität, Validität und Auswirkungen der Reife beim 10-5 Wiederholungssprungtest jugendlicher Sportler)

Reactive strength provides an indication of fast stretch-shortening cycle function which occur in athletic movements such as sprinting and jumping. Reactive strength can be quantified using the reactive strength index (RSI) during jumping tests such as the Drop jump from box heights 20-40 cm. However, recent evidence supports the use of repeat jump/hop tests such as the 10-5 Rebound Jump test (10-5 RJT) which may be safer and more appropriate test to use for monitoring the longitudinal development of adolescent athletes. The 10-5 RJT has been shown to be valid and reliable in older adolescents and adults, however, less is known in younger adolescents and different maturation groups.
