Is training age predictive of physiological performance changes in elite developmental rugby league players: A prospective tracking study
(Dient das Trainingsalter zur Vorhersage physiologischer Leistungsveränderungen bei Nachwuchsleistungssportlern im Rugby: Eine prospektive Trackingstudie)
Individuals with a higher pre-study rugby league training age exhibited a greater improvement in performance measures. Pre-study resistance and cardiovascular training ages may have been inadequate to identify relationships with performance enhancements in this population.
Elite junior rugby league (RL) squads are comprised of large numbers with a wide range of training experience, physical development and performance capacities. Our objective was to determine if training age (TA), years of engagement within specific training domains: RL specific (RLTA); resistance training (RTA); cardiovascular training (CVTA) is predictive of change in physiological performance tests in junior RL players.
