Physiological and biochemical indicator monitoring of excellent biathlon athletes during plateau training

INTRODUCTION: This article analyzes the plateau training regulation and the adapted ability of athletes through the observing and measuring variable physiological and biochemical indicators, such as serum creatine kinase (CK), hemoglobin (HB), blood urea (BUN), serum testosterone (T), blood lactic acid (BLA), ECG, blood pressure and pulse. METHOD: 7 key biathlon athletes (M=3,F=4) preparing for 2010 Olympic Winter Garnes were traced during plateau training of Changbai mountain. 1. CK, BUN and urinalysis including PRO, KET, UBG, BIL, SG, ERY, etc. were tested on every Monday, Wednesday, Tuesday and Saturday. Reflotron Sprint made in Germany and MA-4260 Urine Analyzer made in Japan were adopted respectively. 2. Every other week, body composition (BIODYNAMICS made in USA), hemogram, T and Cortisol were tested on Monday. 3. HR, BLA (YSI-1500)after intensive training and urinalysis within 15 minutes of training class over were tested. RESULTS and DISCUSSION: 1. During plateau training, the range of excellent biathlon athletes1 CK is 2311.18±1426.23 (816-4311) U/L, PRO is 8.91+15.26 (0-30) mg/dl on the next morning after general endurance training. On the next morning after special endurance training, the range of excellent biathlon athletes1 Ck is 982.35±491.32 (527-1582) U/L, PRO is 4.82±8.51 (0-30) mg/dl. It reflects that the athletes' CK level decreases at the same intensity because of the specialization of burden condition and it maybe the result of human body function's conservation. 2. During ramp running which is one of the plateau training ways, the range of excellent biathlon athletes' HR is 187-219t/min, BLA is 6.6211.8 (3.81-7.75) mmol/l. 3. On the special skill training class, the range of excellent biathlon athletes' HR is 180-21 Ot/min, BLA is 2.21-8.65mmol/l. 4. During the whole plateau training, the ranges of excellent biathlon athletes' CK, UREA, HB, PCV and PRO are 92.5-351 U/L, 3.48-8.22mmol/l, 12.8-16.4mg/dl, 36.1-50.0%. It indicates that under the plateau environment, their physical energy metabolism will rise, so the energy reserve needs to be increased, the nephritic burden will increase, and under the same stimulation of training burden, they are easy to appear sports fatigue. CONCLUSION: 1) If recovery value of athletes' CK has been kept on 300 for 3 weeks, it will appear fatigue symptom. 2) 2. In early stage of plateau training, increasing cardiovascular related indicators of the athletes of density is of great significance to avoid undesirable phenomena such as the appearance of fatigue. 3) During the plateau training, because of stimulation effect in the hypoxic environment, the athletes' HB shows compensatory increase on physiological indicators. 4) As hypoxic environment on the plateau, the athletes are easy to appear fatigue, BUN and CK indicators rise fast, the speed of recovery for athletes is slow, so training burden and intensity should be arranged reasonably. 5) Appropriate environment to stimulate the hypoxic training with reasonable arrangements for athletes' endocrine mechanism can increase T level significantly. 6) During plateau training, the good physiological and biochemical indicators can be maintained 1-2 weeks after going down the plateau, so the athletes can make better results during this period.
