Analysis of the results achieved by the romanian women biathlonists during the senior world championships at the 15 km event
INTRODUCTION: Revitalization of the Romanian competition biathlon can be achieved only by changing some of the organizational-methodical elements included in the complex sports training process. We actually state that the more flexible and moulded (according to the objective competitions) the sports training in biathlon becomes, the greater the chances of achieving maximum results during the competitions are.
METHOD: Our analysis had as a subject the performance achieved by the four Romanian sportswomen as compared to the Norwegian sportswoman who gained the first place in the 15 km individual event during the Senior World Biathlon Championship- Anterselva, 2007. In order to achieve an objective analysis, we made up a table including many columns (e.g.: Table 1) for each of the four sportswomen analyzed.
RESULTS: In order to present the comparative results in a better way, we presented the intermediary results for each sportswoman individually as compared to the results of the winner in s graphical way as follows: a graphic presenting the comparison between the time for each tour (Figure 1) and another graphic presenting the shooting time in the shooting range (Figure 2):
DISCUSSION: The Information gathered allows the objective analysis of the differences between the two sportswomen and shows the fact that the constant running rhythm during all the rounds {in a high rhythm) and the constancy of the shooting {shooting time and accuracy) are decisive in achieving the success.
CONCLUSION: The average time difference for this race confirms the hypothesis that it is difficult to cover this difference in only one year and, having in view the relay race, better results can be achieved only by choosing an appropriate race strategy.
