Comportamiento de indicadores funcionales durante un partido de tenis de mesa en jugadores de élite
(Verhalten funktionaler Indikatoren während eines Tischtennisspiels im Hochleistungsbereich)
An analysis of the behavior of various functional indicators was performed during a 5-set table tennis match in a group of 9 table tennis players (4 women and 5 men) of the Cuban national team of this sport, with the objective of determining the physiological impact caused by the intensity of the game in athletes of both sexes, throughout the game. In each set of the match, the duration time, the percentage of effectiveness, the maximum heart rate, the percent of the maximum heart rate in relation to the predicted one, the percentage of recovery after each set, as well as the lactate values reached were determined. It was found that the duration of each set tended to increase during the course of the game, with more emphasis on women, despite the fact that the percentage of effectiveness behaved more heterogeneously than in men. In addition, a better cardiovascular and metabolic response was found in the female sex, in relation to the demands imposed by the characteristics of this sport. The statistical program SPSS © version 20.0 for Windows was used, determining the descriptive statistics to obtain measures of central tendency: mean, standard deviation (SD), minimum and maximum of the variables and indicators determined. The results were analyzed by applying the method of qualitative analysis of the behavior of each variable and indicators determined according to the criteria of experts.
