Glenohumeral internal rotation deficit (GIRD) in tennis players

About the glenohumeral internal rotation deficit (GIRD) which has been identified as a common finding on physical exam in tennis players and which has been shown to be progressive with years of play and to be associated with changes in normal glenohumeral and scapulothoracic kinematics. It has been significantly associated with shoulder injuries, specifically labral tears and partial thickness rotator cuff tears, in overhead athletes.
