Table tennis after the introduction of the 40mm-ball and the 11-point format

The study showed that the introduction of the 40mm-ball and the 11-point format had only minor consequences for the tactical and technical strategies of the game. After the change of the rules, players serve and receive more conservatively. The performance relevance of the stroke in the position backhand is lower, but strokes in the direction from the long forehand to the long forehand side of the opponent are of increased importance. In regard to stroke techniques, topspin will play a more important role in the future.
