Tennis anti-doping program

The International Tennis Federation (ITF), the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), and the Women`s Tennis Association (WTA) have a common comprehensive anti-doping program, which is presented here. The purpose of the Tennis Anti-Doping Program is to maintain the integrity of tennis and protect the health and rights of all tennis players. The program includes: (a) doping tests in and out of competition; (b) imposing penalties for doping offenses; and (c) providing support, assistance, and education to players when applicable. A drug free sport benefits the players, the tennis organizations, the sponsors, the tournaments, the spectators and fans, and ultimately the sport of tennis. The program approach includes (a) the right to medical privacy, (b) the confidentiality of all medical information, (c) the full protection of player rights, and (d) the integrity and accuracy of testing.
