Individual modeling of the competition activities for elite female ski races during the 2006-2007
INTRODUCTION: Individual planning of the competition activities for elite skiers racers (women) during a micro cycle is a very important optimization factor for the sportive training [Rusko, 2003]. The goal of this research is to analyze the individual competition participation Systems of the Champions and winners of the individual racing during the World Ski Championship in Sapporo 2007.
METHODS: The data received from the official documents provided by the International Ski Federation (FIS): personal data regarding participation of the women skiers in the competition, competition protocols, and documents of the final records at the World Ski Cup.
RESULTS: Table 1 shows the quantitative characteristics of the competition activities before the beginning of the World championship skiers, who won medals at the World Ski championship.
DISCUSSION: At the World Ski Championship in Sappore 8 skiers women won all 12 medals in the individual long distance and sprint competitions. 6 skiers medal winners took part in Tour de Ski competition. The women skiers, who won medals at individual competition of skiing championship before the beginning of the championship 10-12 times participated in the long distance (10-15km) competitions, which made a competition load of 95-135 km. All the skiers also participated in the sprint competitions; however they had different competition loads (Table 1). Elite skiers, who participated in the competitions, lasting many days (Tour de Ski), achieved great results in the World Ski Championship in Sappore.
