In the article the authors present the results of the research aimed at investigating particular features of time and structure of a shot presented by rifle-shooters. The analysis has been carried out by means of timing rifle-shooters of different levels of preparedness and interpreting "Skatt" data. The shooting technique formation is characterized by gradual increase in the time of performance and change in basic phases of a shot action set. Acquisition of basic motive skills and abilities results in the increase in the action set of a shooter. On the highest sports mastership level a certain part of movements is performed automatically, which leads to the decrease in the number of actions controlled and stabilization of shot time.
