Automédication des rugbymen amateurs
(Selbstmedikation bei Rugbyspielern des Amateurbereichs)
General practitioners daily meet amateur rugby players in whom self-medication can lead to positivity in doping control. A cross-sectional survey with a study of a cohort by self-administered, anonymous questionnaire was conducted in the department of Lot to judge the level of self-medication of amateur rugby players. From the 206 questionnaires collected, it appears that self-medication is common among these athletes. It is positively correlated to the level and number of hours of practice. The fatigue and decreased performance are the reasons most often cited and are clinical signs to look for the doctor and pharmacist. The role of patient information when prescribing and dispensing is to upgrade in the population involved in sport.
