Methods
A Google and PubMed literature search for "rowing," "biomechanics," and "spine" was undertaken.
Results
Relevant articles were reviewed and synthesized to describe biomechanics, injury patterns, treatment options, and techniques for injury prevention.
Conclusions
Rowing grows ever more popular in the United States. Up-to-date knowledge of rowing biomechanics and spinal injury patterns is necessary for prompt diagnosis and appropriate treatment of the injured rowing athlete.
