Epidemiology of injuries in youth soccer
(Epidemiologie der Verletzungen im Jugendfußball)
SUMMARY
There is a huge body of literature on soccer injuries. Over 1100 studies on the world's most popular sport provide insight into the incidence, nature, and causes of injuries sustained by players, yet only 15% of studies refer to youth soccer. This is somewhat of a paradox, given that over 50% of players are registered in youth leagues of national soccer federations.
