Velocity character of instep kicking with preferred leg in soccer

(Geschwindigkeitsverlauf des Spannstoßes mit dem bevorzugten Bein im Fußball)

The aim of this study was to examine the extent that distal segment momentum rely on proximal segment base on the velocity character of swing leg in soccer. The kicking motions of preferred leg was captured for eight high skilled players using a three-dimensional technique at 50Hz. The result shower that swing leg motion accord to the form descried by whiplash concept. At the beginning of leg swing, knee muscle moment dominants the acceleration of the lower leg, then, lower leg acceleration was dominated by muscle moment and momentum come from proximal segment in the final phase. During kicking, muscle moment acts more important than angular momentum which comes from proximal segment.
