Chronic ankle instability and associated self-reported function in South African professional ballet dancers
Key Points
• Ankle sprains and the subsequent development of CAI is a significant problem among professional ballet dancers in South Africa.
• Dancers with CAI tended to have less control over their ankles giving way and took longer to recover after their ankles had given way.
• The good levels of self-reported functioning despite the ankle instability in this population warrants further investigation.
