A study on freestyle wrestlers` waist kinesthesis

(Eine Studie zur "Hüft-Kinästhesie" des Freistilringers)

Introduction This paper explores the differences of kinesthesis sensation between elite freestyle wrestlers and common level wrestlers. In addition, kinesthesis sensation charateristics of elite wrestlers were examined. The study also discussed the way to improve kinesthesis sensation. Finally, the relationship between physic stimuli and psychological nature of kinesthesis sensation was explored. Method DIVID110, DIVID120, DIVID130 of DIVID system made in Germany was used to explore waist kinesthesis sensation. The kinesthesis sensation was composed of muscle tension and range of joint sense. Subjects included thirty-seven freestyle wrestlers from Shandong, Shanxi and Qinghai Province. The design of muscle tension sense permitted a 3×2 (reproduction power × grade), and the reproduction power was 120 N·m, 80 N·m and 40 N·m. The design of joint range sense of front and back permitted a 3×2 (reproduction angle×grade), and the reproduction angle was 28º, 17º and 6º. A 4×2 design was used in joint range sense of left and right, and the reproduction angle was 50º, 28º, 17º and 6º, respectively. Repeated measure and correlation MONOVA were used. Results Elite athletes` reproduction errors were significantly smaller (F1,37=9.46, P<0.00; F1,37=28.15, P<0.00; F1,37=12.02, P<0.00; F1,37=21.90, P<0.00) than those of common athletes in four directions power of waist. There were statistically significant differences in errors of reproduction between 120 N·m, 80 N·m and 40 N·m. The errors of reproduction 120 N·m were higher (MD=3.02, P<0.00) than that of reproduction 80 N·m., The errors of reproduction 40 N·m were smaller (MD=4.16, P<0.00) than that of reproduction 80 N·m. In addition, the errors of reproduction showed nonsignificant differences between elite athletes and common athletes in front, back and right of waist, while there were significant differences (F1,37=5.55, P<0.05) in left. Conclusions As for kinesthesis sensation of waist of free wrestlers, the muscle tension sense and left joint range sense of elite athletes was significantly higher than those of common athletes. However, the joint range sense of front, back and right was the same between elite athletes and common athletes. The relationships between muscle power and muscle tension sense showed that as muscle power increased, the muscle tension sense generally declined. Compared with joint range sense, muscle tension sense could be regarded as a valid index to distinguish elite athletes with common players.
