The epidemiology of mental health symptoms and disorders among elite athletes and the evolution of mental health literacy
Among elite athletes, strategies are needed to address mental health epidemiological data disparities among different (dis)abilities, races, ethnicities, sexual orientations, and genders.
Culturally competent mental health literacy strategies are needed to help individuals better understand mental health symptoms and disorders, address stigma, and promote help-seeking behaviors.
Sporting organizations need to ensure athletes have access to information on mental health and can access services quickly.
