In the modern period the questions of the modernization of sports education stand sharply. They are connected first of all with the realization of its humanizing and culture formative functions directed to the high spiritual-valuable, general cultural and professional development of the students' personality. It demands the reconsidera-tion of the theoretical knowledge of physical culture, search of its new paradigms on the base of deeper theoretical-methodological bases. And the original ideas of our oustanding predecessors, one of which was P.F. Lesshaft, bring the invaluable contribution to it.
