Final report of the Coaching task force 2002

This 2002 report looks at the background to and provides recommendations on the following; An international benchmarking exercise be undertaken to compare the preparation of coaches in England with other countries who were deemed to have successful systems in place - and to identify good practice. The implementation of a National Coaching Certificate at 5 levels. This would be set against the national standards and be a requirement for all National Governing Bodies (NGBs). The feasibility of linking this to a License to practice. The feasibility of employing an additional 3,000 full time and part time coaches nationwide. A review of sports coach UK, to establish its role in relation to emerging recommendations
