Exploring current hamstring exercises
Hamstring injuries occur over many different sporting codes and can have great impact on athletic careers. Resistance strength training has been suggested to be a protective mechanism from injury, as it has been shown to decrease the number of incidences, allowing athletes to endure high training volumes and high intensity running. There are many exercises that exist to target the posterior chain musculature within the high-performance sporting environment. The purpose of this article was to explore the current hamstring strengthening exercises, provide progressions, variations and practical applications.
