Vordere Kreuzbandruptur
(Anterior cruciate ligament ruptur)
A 17 year old football player, thought to be one of the biggest talents of his age and already part of a professional team, injured his anterior cruciate ligament. In the following five years, seven surgeries are performed due to donor-site morbidity, persistent instability, re-tear and intra-operative complications such as major nerve lesion. How much surgery can be expected from a young patient? Which complications may have been prevented by adequate precautionary measures? Following questions are discussed.
