Effect of selected mental training on archers performance

Objective: The main objective of the study was to find out the effect of selected mental training onarchers performance. Methods: Seven (5 males and 2 females) randomly selected from the National Institute of Sports (NIS), Kolkata, agreed to participate in the study. The age of the subjects ranged between 24 and28 years. An experimental design was adopted for the current study. An independent sample t-testwas applied to test the significant mean differences between the pre-test and post-test data. The data were analysed with the help of the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 22. Results: It can be inferred that there has been a significant impact of six weeks of mental trainingon increasing archers` performance. Conclusion: Within the limitations of the present study, it was concluded that the mental trainingprogrammes had produced significant results in the 70-meters distance shooting test for archers.
