Alpine Canada Alpin is releasing a ground-breaking skier development guide developed by national team experts to help ski racers of all levels become champions. AIM2WIN has been designed by national team experts to help racers at all levels to become champions. The AIM2WIN and PARA-AIM2WIN training programs have been developed to ensure world-leading techniques and the most up-to-date information is consistently available for use by athletes and coaches in every corner of the country. The new manual forms a critical foundation of ACA`s strategic plan to build sustainable, highly successful long-term racing programs across the country. The first copies were released today in front of coaches, administrators, officials and other Canadian ski racing leaders during the 2008 Sommet ACA Summit in Calgary, AB. "Our goal in Canada it is to become the best ski racing nation in the world at every level and the release of AIM2WIN is a major step in pursuit of attaining that objective. In AIM2WIN, we now have a solid guideline available for ski racing at all levels across the country," said ACA National Development Director Mark Sharp. The primary objective of AIM2WIN is to produce greater numbers of ski racers capable of achieving premier competitive results. It also encourages participants to maintain lifelong involvement in the sport. Skier development and performance benchmarks from the club level to the national team level are also outlined throughout the document. "Our responsibility as leaders of Canadian ski racing is always to challenge the status quo and build an environment of excellence, to take risks and always seek out ways to improve. Our aim is to be the best in the world at every level," said ACA Chief Executive Officer Ken Read. "AIM2WIN is designed to improve in a sustainable way the quality of Canadian ski racers from the grassroots to the country's best," Read added." It will be an invaluable tool for both coaches and athletes." AIM2WIN builds on the Alpine Integration Model (AIM), which was created in 1999 to identify the most effective athlete development system in order to improve the overall quality of Canada`s ski racers.
