Sport prothesis versus skiing prothesis
(Sportprothesen versus Skiprothesen)
This was a case study about a high-level Alpine skiing athlete (three-time medalist at the World Championships 2013, born in 1982). The athlete has had a trans-tibia amputation on his right leg since the age of six. The aim of this work was to analyze the motion pattern of this athlete during a sit-to-stand (STS) movement with both types of prostheses (sport prosthesis [Fig. 1] vs. skiing prosthesis [Fig. 2]). The muscle activation was recorded with electromyogram (EMG) signals. The ground reaction force (GRF) of both legs was measured.
