Biomechanical comparison of a standard strap binding with a new

The aim of this study is a biomechanical analysis of the performance and driving behavior of the new rotating binding concept (with an additional degree of freedom) in comparison to a conventional strap binding. Conclusion of this research: The handling and driving characteristics of both binding concepts show differences. The new binding concepts load transmission (especially to the back side) shows performance problems. The subjective impressions of the snowboarder describe these problems, too.
