Dlugoletni trening stosowany w wybranym okresie ontogenezy, a zmiany w czynnosci oddychania u zawodników judo

(Effects of training lasting many years in selected periods of ontogenesis on respiratory function in judo athletes)

The aim of this work is to present changes in the respiratory function of judo athletes, resulting from training lasting many years. A group of 24 judoists (cadets: n = 12, aged 14-15 years, seniors: n = 12, mean age 22,8 years), and untrained subjects (n = 10, mean age 15,3 years) were studied. The athletes were studied in the annual training cycle as well as throughout many years. Both groups were subjected to a graded cycloergometer exercise until exhaustion. Respiratory parameters (maximal minute ventilation and respiratory frequency) were measured and recorded with the use of EOS Sprint Jaeger gas analyser. The data were analysed by using ANOVA. The results were indicative of a stimulating role of the training. Highest mean values of maximal pulmonary ventilation (143,6 l/min) were recorded for senior judoists and lowest ones by control subjects (80,4 l/min). Mean respiratory rate of cadets decreased gradually from 20 to 14 breaths per minute.
