Strength and conditioning for basketball
Basketball, with its increasing world popularity, participation and monetary value [1, 29], provides great opportunities for strength and conditioning (S&C) coaches to enhance performance. Designing effective training protocols for improved physical performance requires a thorough understanding ot the demands of the game and a methodological process for combining all subcomponents, enabling the effective integration of the S&C programme within the overall basketball programme. This methodological approach is essential to effective programme design, and involves assessing and integrating all variables based on the demands ot the game. This requires a review of the science related to the specific energetics and mechanical requirements of basketball. This helps the coach provide an evidence-based, methodological approach to the athlete`s training.
