The results of this study suggest that the recursive solution of Armstrong and Green (2) provides a powerful method to biomechanics researchers for dynamically simulating human motion. It was demonstrated, however, that errors accumulate causing a gradual deterioration of the simulation, indicating that the method be limited to use over short periods or be applied in closed-loop situations. Research in progress is examining the performance of this simulation methods in these types of problems and also in situations where external forces are applied to the human body.
