Inveterate long peroneal tendon tear caused by overuse in a highly professional fencer: inconsistency between the severity of damage, the diagnostic picture and the functional deficit

This article presents the evolution and treatment of a pathology of the myotendinous joint and long peroneal muscle caused by overuse, in a highly professional athlete, presenting an anomalous isolated compromission of the functional unit of long peroneal muscle that, despite the conservative treatment and the cures of the medical team, presented a progressive negative evolution, so much that it required surgery.
