Locomotion Laboratory - Institute of Sport Science - Friedrich Schiller University of Jena
The Locomotion Lab is equipped with an instrumented treadmill with overhead gantry and safety harness. It also features two in-floor pits to accommodate force platforms. Pulleys and rubber tubes provide optional horizontal force application.
Managing Director: Margrit Schaarschmidt
Systems in the Locomotion Lab include:
Instrumented Treadmill with KISTLER Force Sensors
SCAIME Strain Gauge Force Plates
QUALISYS Motion Capture System, ProReflex
DELSYS Surface EMG Systems and Sensors
COSMED Cardio Pulmonary Diagnostic Equipment
For motion capture and to analyze kinematic data:
The infrared camera system from QUALISYS records 3D positions of reflective markers placed on the subject. Key components of the system are the ProReflex cameras and the Qualisys Track Manager (QTM) software.
