Kinematic analysis of breaststroke swimmers with disability

The aim of this study was to identify individual performance characteristics of swimmers with disabililies and the changes caused by training. Three swimmers from class SB8 were (pre-post) examined. All three swimmers with disabilities (SB8) performed a "load Step lest" in breaststroke in a flume at individualized constant velocity. All athletes showed an individual character in analysing PSQ. The results of stroke frequency and stroke time were likewise very different between the athletes and also between the pre and posttest. Based on individual assumptions of disabled athletes and performance capability and with reference to the individual disability it should be possible to analyse relevant variables of sport-specific physical activities, now demonstrated for swimming, in the future. This might enable a transfer with concrete recommendations for training practice.
