Two aspects of potential unfairness in tennis singles
Several different types of equivalent players are identified in this paper. `Identical`, `symmetrically identical`, and `equal` players are defined. The tie-break game is shown to be unfair for `identical` players but fair for `symmetrically identical` players, whilst the "no-ad game" is shown to be unfair for players who are merely `equal`. Simple solutions to these unfairness problems are given.
