Shoulder pain in tennis players; the role of internal impingement and rotator cuff tears
This article reviews the role of internal impingement and joint side partial thickness tears in athletic shoulder pain.
Shoulder pain is a common cause of morbidity in tennis players. When assessing these athletes internal impingement and joint side rotator cuff injury should be included in the differential diagnosis. The treatment is usually conservative, the results of surgery are variable and relate to the underlying pathology.
