This book of nearly 300 pages and 14 chapters was forty years in the making and was written with the purpose of offering a source of information concerning all of the phases found in competitive diving from which coaches and divers can form a solid base to obtain a higher level of performance.
The text approaches the sport from the views of mechanical principles based on the laws of motion; history and trend of competitive diving; the makeup of the diver and coach; problems that confront present day coaches; how to analyze dives; perform entries and saves; prepare divers to compete; the use of teaching aids, tower diving, safety awareness, nutrition and judging competitive diving. Many stories and examples are offered to make the reading more interesting and easier to comprehend.
