Objectified parameters of matches played by Romania's female handball team at World Championships / Norway 1999
(Objektivierte Parameter der Spiele der rumänischen Handball-Nationalmannschaft bei den Weltmeisterschaften 1999 in Norwegen)
Romania#s team displays efficient defensive systems (6:0 and 5+1 combined). The balance of the attack phase efficacy (AE) and the defence phase efficiency (DE) is except for the two sustained defeats (Ukraine, France) clearly in favour of the defence. Defence is forcefully effected and aggressively up help as highlighted by the great number of unstatutory interventions that led to penalty throws (and not only). Chances of position on goal-area line for the purpose of doubling, blocking the run behind the defence, positioning as well as aggressive quarding are well-mastered skills. Some improvement in all players# technical, tactical behaviour can at the time be noticed in all specific phases of attack as compared to the national team#s performance at the European Championships in Amsterdam in 1998. However, the above-mentioned values sum to be pointing at an insufficient effectiveness of shooting for goals and, which is even more surprising, at a great many technical tactical errors as well as infringements of the rules. Counter-attack has not always been efficient and this fact is made evident by the values of the counter attack share in the global diagram of offensive play. It is reconimended that both substitute players# and first-teamers values should be "standardized" (see injuries and/or disqualifications during the World Championships. Team players should take up many different positions. Shooting for goals "by surprise" should be attempted at a greater extent employing feinting movements, swiftness, positioning and strength.
