Changes in inflammatory factors in elite soccer players folllowing single bout high intensity interval training
(Veränderungen der Entzündungsfaktoren bei Hochleistungsfußballern nach einer Trainingseinheit hoch intensiven Intervalltrainings)
Studies have demonstrated that exercise induces considerable physiological change in the immune system. The aim of present study was to evaluate the changes in inflammatory factors in Iranian elite soccer players following single bout high intensity interval training. Therefore we recruited 20 deaf soccer player men with no history of cardio respiratory disease, nonsmokers and do not receive any medication as subjects. Subjects were measured for height, weight and BMI one week before the study began. Subjects were divided into two groups: Experimental and control. A base line blood sample was taken before and immediately following exercise. Data were given as means ± Standard Deviation and were analyzed using by t-test. The level of significance was set as 0.05. The results indicated the significant increase in plasma concentration of IL-6 (P=0.043) whereas there was not any significant increase in serum concentration of IL-1 (P=0.91) and TNF-a (P=0.7). In conclusion this study suggests that following of high intensity interval training, the changes in inflammatory markers can lead to anti-inflammatory condition in elite soccer players.
