Integrating technology in figure skating

Leaming about and implementing various types of technology into the figure skating daily training environment can add significant value for the athlete and coach. The applications can benefit the technical development of the skater as weil as increase the understanding of training demands and various components of recovery. The information gathered from technology can be used to help determine how these different metrics are related to injury risk and performance outcomes. In turn, coaches can optimize training plans and sport science/medicine practitioners can develop preventative strategies to help reduce injury risk. Ultimately, we will see increased integration of technology within figure skating - these are the tools that will enhance all aspects of training, recovery, and performance.
